Anthropic's relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has become strained again. Just three weeks after the DoD lifted export controls on Fable 5, Anthropic's Opus 5 has already surpassed Fable 5 on most benchmarks. DoD officials claim Anthropic refuses to allow its AI models to be used for legitimate military purposes, and related products are being fully removed.
